Can anyone please tell me about driving in Orlando City?Is da traffic similar to NY or chi wth cabs everywhr?
You will see many fewer cabs in Orlando. The big difference in New York and other northern cities, you hail (stop) a cruising cab. In Orlando this just about does not exist. You phone the cab company and they dispatch a vehicle. Service In the Orlando area is probably the best in the USA. Practically all the cabs are owned by one company, and they rent them by the day or week to individual contractors. It is about the only place in the USA, where if you do have a problem with a driver, your case is generally resolved almost immediately and the driver is suspended from the computerized system in a matter of minutes, Driving in the city you NEVER run into anything remotely resembling the chaos in New York iof Chicago. The traffic does get bad, mainly because of the fact that if there is a traffic accident, it is usually just about impossible to find an alternate route. Due to the present severe recession, traffic is much lighter than a few years ago.
